3D Cone Beam Imaging

3D Cone Beam Imaging in Borger, TX

A 3D cone beam scan gives Dr. Robertson a full three-dimensional view of your teeth, jaw, and the surrounding bone and soft tissue. Standard X-rays are flat — cone beam imaging shows depth and spatial relationships, which matters a lot when we're planning something like an implant.

When we use it

  • Planning implant placement around nerves, sinuses, and bone volume
  • Assessing the temporomandibular joint for TMJ concerns
  • Evaluating impacted teeth and unusual tooth positioning
  • Planning root canal therapy when canal anatomy is complex
  • Looking at facial trauma or bone changes
  • Screening for early signs of decay or cysts that standard X-rays can miss

What the scan is like

The scan is quick and takes place outside your mouth — you sit still while the machine rotates once around your head. There's no goop and no bitewing tabs to hold. Once the scan is done, Dr. Robertson can walk you through the images right there, which makes it easier to explain what he's seeing and why it matters for your treatment plan.
